Murphy Cramer Design takes cues for the design of the interiors from the architecture of the Northaven residence. The street is essentially unseen from the interior of the structure, sheltered behind a limestone wall. All areas have views to a front garden behind the wall and simultaneously to views of the rear landscaped gardens and pool.

The interior design and furnishings are kept to a minimal style that allows the architecture, the views and quality of light in the space to take center stage. Floors are typically uninterrupted polished concrete and walls are a level five painted finish. Natural stone is used on the floors and walls of the baths. African teak is used as the main wood species throughout.

The key elements of the Entry are the cantilevered stair of painted white steel and African teak risers and treads. Seifert Murphy designed the custom wood and silk rug and placed a single piece of furniture, a low bench, with art above.

In the living and dining room furniture pieces are contemporary and luxurious; the rug is a custom design with a subtle silk pattern. Furniture pieces are in dark woods and upholsteries are tonal with soft blue silk accents. A custom designed African teak millwork unit behind sliding panels can present itself as a bookcase or a bar depending on its desired use. The fireplace is clad in the same Leuders limestone used on exterior walls.

The Master Bedroom, like all of the ground level spaces, is designed to enjoy views of both courtyards flanking the house. The idea is to create a feeling of sleeping outside but in complete privacy. A custom headboard design by Seifert Murphy has hidden compartments for books, magazines, etc. Deep, luxurious lounge chairs and an oversized ottoman create an additional area for relaxation away from the active areas of the home. The Master Bath has African access to the pool on one end and to the outdoor shower at the other.
